Crash Test is a one-of-a-kind comedy special. That’s the whole point. Feel free to call it a gimmick, but I’ll be too busy not caring what you say. Crash Test is awesome and one of the most entertaining comedy specials I’ve seen in years.
Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel convinced a bus with massive windows to drive from New York City to Los Angeles. They then loaded it up with 50 comedy fans, drove around L.A., and filmed an hour-long comedy special. The bus gives its fans the best Homes of the Stars tour they could ever dream of, including a stop by Rob Corddry‘s yard sale and a stop at Aubrey Plaza’s home, where she may or may not be burying a dead body.
With appearances by Natasha Leggero, Aziz Ansari, Thomas Lennon & Ben Garant, Earl Sweatshirt, and more, it’s supremely impressive how much funny this duo packs into 52 minutes. In spite of all these indie comedy mega-stars, however, the hour’s best moments come from someone you’ve never heard of before. I won’t say much more aside from the simple statement that you’ll be a Zev Superfan by the end of Crash Test.
You can buy Crash Test on Vimeo for $3.99. It’s sort of a no brainer. This special is awesome, and totally worth your time.
